A: Only the newer browsers can support the technologies used in creating the MEGAMALL MAPPLET, namely JAVA 1.1. But now upgrading your browser is easier than ever and all of your preferences and bookmarks, etc are passed along to your newly upgraded browser. So for quicker web surfing, more features, and support for the latest internet applets like ours, upgrading is a great choice.

Trouble Shooting back to top
Q: Why is the MEGAMALL MAPPLET not working?
A: Check your browser's security settings to ensure that Applets and Java are enabled. Some browsers have these disabled for security purposes.
Make sure you have the latest version of your browser. Older versions may have problems with the Mapplet.
The Mapplet often does not work well with Netscape and a Macintosh computer. Try downloading the latest version of Internet Explorer, Macintosh edition (verion 4.5 or greater). You can get it here.
If you are using Internet Explorer, you can get additional help from the Microsoft website
Q: Why is the MEGAMALL MAPPLET too big to fit in my browser?
A: Most likely your screen is set below the 800x600 recommended resolution. On WINDOWS 95/98/NT/2000/XP this can easily be changed by going into your Control Panel then selecting the Display icon, or right click on the desktop to bring up the Properties. Then click on the Settings tab and adjust your screen resolution to 800x600 or greater.
Q: Why is my map running slow?
A: Closing other programs that you may be running may speed up the performance of the applet. We do recommend at least 32MB of RAM in your computer but more is preferable.
Q: Why is the map scrolling slow and choppy?
A:Try closing any West Edmonton Mall Panoramic windows you may have open. The panorama window may be taking too many resources to run.
You can also press the CLEAR button to remove all store selections from the map.
Q: Why is my printout of the map somewhat blury?
A: Netscape and Internet Explorer use different Virtual machines, and printing with some versions of Internet Explorer is problematic. For best printing results, we recommend using a recent release of Internet Explorer such as 6.0 or Netscape version 4.5 or later.
